The successor to our wildly popular Jingdezhen SummerGaiwan, our new SummerGaiwan is handcrafted in Dehua, Fujianfrom paper-thin, high-fired porcelain. Finished with a thin, hand-painted cerulean line along the rims of the lid, body, and saucer, this elegant vessel paysmodern tribute to the famed “blue and white”qinghuaporcelain style of the Ming Dynasty.
The pure white porcelain provides anideal visual background for appreciating tea, while the masterful thinness of the material offers a wonderfully precise pour. A sibling to our more angularSpringGaiwan, the Summerversion islower and more rounded, presenting a slightly more casualsilhouette. Thevessel’s footnestles perfectly into the well-proportionedsaucerbeneath.
Pair with our matching Ming Server andMing Tasting Cups for a complete gongfu-style tea set.
