Part of our Song Kiln Collection, this teapot is inspired by the celadon wareof the Song Dynasty’s ImperialRu Kiln.
Crafted by nationally acclaimed Taiwanese master ceramicist, Xu De Jia, this pot features the artist’ssignature Ru Kiln glaze: a silky, qing-coloredceladon over a dark brown stoneware base.
As with all of our celadon pieces in the Song Kiln Collection, this RuKiln Pot is covered with a web of craquelure: hairline cracks in the glaze that will darken with use. This natural patina is an especially prized characteristic of fine celadon, and adds to the pot’s aesthetic appeal as every pot is different.
Please note that this is a handmade item, and every pot will vary slightly in glaze, shape, dimensions, and volume.
