Taking inspiration from the land around me in New Zealands Wairarapa region – pristine mountain ranges, dramatic winding rivers and gorges and English botanical gardens with plants and gardens some over 100 years in the making the Mori term Wairarapa translates to glistening waters.

Large walnut and oak trees dwarfed the local gardens and winter-stripped apple orchards until just the Skeleton of the plants remained, natural shades and misty weather with frosty mornings provided a rich tapestry to work with!

The series encapsulates local Mori swimming and camping spots, connection with the land and sky and indigenous ancestry.

Please note: Original paintings on canvas are firmly wrapped around stretcher bars, also known as ‘stretched’. For any international shipments (outside of Australia), these paintings will be shipped unstretched and rolled to ensure their safe delivery. Pleasecontact us for any enquiries.
